Hmm, I thought I saw a way to change this in the preferences but now I can’t find it… Indeed, it is an outstanding improvement ticket. Not really sure what is causing it to lose focus. There are some solutions already to these problems:ġ. I really hope the developers read this and are able to fix some of these problems in a new release. Very frustrating! I don't think Translate until Fuzzy is a solution either, as this is a very slow process too.

For jobs where no editing of 100% matches is specified, I can't quickly tap through a series of green matches by repeatedly tapping my shortcut, instead I have to wait for each segment to load until I can tap the shortcut again. (Already mentioned above) When going to a new segment, the cursor ends up at the end instead of the start. (Already mentioned above) Loss of focus – I really don't see why I should starting using another shortcut to restore focus to the edit window when I haven't done anything to lose it in the first place. I have to work with online TMs, so I don't have any control over where these are stored, but in WF3 this wasn't a problem.

You can use it for free for as long as you want, the only limitation is the size of the translation memory (500 TUs).I am having speed issues too on a very new and fast system, even after trying all the settings suggestions.

Missing a target-only proofreading mode that can be updated directlyĭespite the drawbacks, it's definitely worth trying out. The glossaries are stored in the system files, making it more complicated to export/import/manage Frequent upgrades and new features added based on user needs Can integrate with cloud and/or remote TMs for free (no need for a freelance translator to buy a costly server license) Great pricing if you live in a non-OECD country (50% off) Good pricing that allows you free updates for three years, and a cheap renewal fee Highly responsive tech support (they will create a filter for you if you need to translate an obscure file format like Mindjet) Can handle virtually any type of file format

It works natively on Mac (one of the main reasons I use it) I’ve been using Wordfast Pro since its inception and it keeps getting better with each new release. Review by John Di Rico 08:10 May 9, 2013. On TGB, you only have 40% discount, and will wait for weeks for the buy to close. A 50% discount is offered through their website. NB: for those living in developing economies (Africa, India, etc.), you don't need to buy Wordfast through Proz TGB. You will soon feel the need to buy other CAT tools: Trados which seems to be the most used by agencies, MemoQ which a good number of freelancers enjoy, Deja V, etc. Wordfast still has a long way to go in order to match other CAT tools. The only limitation is the size of the TM. Translation and Localization, Self-employed. I have no negative experience with Wordfast. Unlike other cat tools, you can import and export TMs even with the demo version. Pros: Wordfast is a very easy to use software, affordable, it saves your time and makes you to improve the quality of your translations. It is a good entry level tool for those new to the translation industry, especially its demo version. Compared to other CAT tools, there are a lot of improvements to make. It's quite easy to use and has the basic functionalities needed by a young translator. Review by Sone-Ngole Alvin Ngole I started with the demo version of this tool and later on bought the licence.
